It was a great pleasure to perform the part of the "Methodist Minister's Daughter" in this wonderful melodrama set to music by the late Stuart Stevens, a wonderful composer who was taken from us too soon. The work was written entirely using 31-tone equal temperament to create new harmony, melody and texture; immersive soundscapes mixed with dramatic speech produce a music-theatre-opera mix. Thumb ensemble were on top form and the Conservatoire students who were part of it were fantastic. See link for more details. We performed it several years ago as part of the Shelagh Delaney Day at Salford Theatre with Stuart himself present. Lovely that the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire invited us to come and perform it again.
